Der Geist ist aus der Flasche. Der Bitcoin-Trust-Antrag, den der Vermögensverwalter BlackRock Ende vergangener Woche gestellt hat, ruft Mitbewerber auf den Plan. Einer dieser Mitbewerber ist WisdomTree. Nach SEC-Dokumenten hat der Assetmanager am gestrigen Dienstag (20. Juni) einen Antrag zur Genehmigung eines Bitcoin Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) bei der SEC gestellt.
“Das Anlageziel des Trusts ist eine Partizipation am Bitcoin-Kurs”, heißt es in dem Antrag. Es handelt sich bei dem Indexfonds, der unter dem Tickersymbol “BTCW” an der Cboe BZX Exchange gelistet werden soll, also um einen sogenannten Spot ETF.
Anders als beispielsweise Futures-basierte Indexfonds bilden Spot ETFs den aktuellen Bitcoin-Kurs ab. Sie bieten daher eine direkte Möglichkeit, am Bitcoin-Kurs zu partizipieren, ohne selbst BTC zu halten.
