Wer erinnert sich noch an Internet Computer (ICP)? Der vormalige Top-10-Coin ist dieser Tage nur noch auf Rang 32 der größten Kryptowährungen zu finden. Mit einer Marktkapitalisierung von 1,4 Milliarden US-Dollar und einem Kurswert von 3,32 USD ist ICP rund 96 Prozent vom Allzeithoch entfernt.
In anderen Worten: Es läuft nicht gut für den Internet Computer. Doch das Team schläft nicht. Wie BTC-ECHO vorab erfahren hat, konnte die DFINITY Foundation eine Partnerschaft mit der Stadt Lugano eingehen. Die Schweizer Stadt gilt als besonders Krypto-affin. Mit dem sogenannten PlanB hat Lugano bereits Anfang 2022 von sich Reden gemacht. Damals führte man Bitcoin als offizielles Zahlungsmittel im Tessin ein.
Mit dem Deal hält mit ICP nun eine weitere Kryptowährung Einzug in die Kommune. Wie es in der Pressemitteilung heißt, ist ckBTC, ein digitaler Bitcoin-Zwilling auf der ICP-Blockchain, ab sofort in der MyLugano App als Zahlungsmittel verfügbar – neben BTC, LVGA und Tether (USDT)….
