Posited this question on r/ledgerwallet, but I was not satisfied with the responses I got.
I’ve Google, YouTubed, and I still can’t find a resource that tell me exactly how to consolidate Bitcoin UTXOs.
Very simple example scenario:
- BTC on Ledger Live
- One/single BTC account
- ~100 UTXOs; various sizes
- All I want is to consolidate into the same account on the Ledger Live app/same address
I’ve been told it’s as simple as just generating the receive QR code, then pasting it when sending it (i.e. Address A -> Address A). Call me paranoid, but I’m not convinced that’s all there is to it, otherwise I’d imagine it would be more common-knowledge.
Please help a newb in need, cheers.
EDIT: Thank you to those who told me it’s indeed as simple as generating an address in the same wallet and sending the max balance on 1 sat. As they say, “No question is a stupid question”, and I’d rather ask these kinds of simple questions than do something that risks the security of my cold-storage stack.
