Ethereum scaling system ImmutableX will soon launch the Immutable Passport

Hey guys, I found this news today, and I think this is really cool and it will be quite useful for gamers.

This passport as they call it provides an all-in-one way for gaming studios looking to onboard gamers into Web3.

The new tool is a non-custodial wallet, gamer profile, and authentication solution, similar to an Xbox Gamertag or an Apple ID, that does not require a password at sign-on.

I would say that this means that Immutable does not hold on to a user’s private keys nor is it involved in signing transactions.
This would imply that Immutable doesn’t store a user’s private keys or participate in transaction signing.

I think this would promote adoption among larger groups of people, uphold enterprise-grade security, and provide access to useful player metrics. I like how the developers have finally realized that there are a number of things to do to make these games more secure and user-friendly.

I remember the first blockchain game I played was Axie Infinity as I believe many of you played at least at the beginning of your blockchain gaming career, these days I only play Coin Fantasy.

Blockchain-based gaming has made strides in recent months, with major companies like Ubisoft and Square Enix embracing crypto and NFT to create new revenue streams for creators which I was really hyped about when I heard the news since I played many Ubisoft games and I’m glad that they realized the potential of blockchain gaming.

Development and investment in Web3 gaming have also been significant, according to a report from blockchain data firm DappRadar I found online, which said that $748 million was raised in August 2022 for the development of new Web3 games.
