Decred steht für Decentralized Credit. Die Idee des Projektes geht bis ins Jahr 2013 zurück und man erblickte das Licht der Welt somit nur wenige Jahre nach Bitcoin. Der offizielle Start des Mainnets erfolgte mit dem Genesis Block am 8. Februar 2016. Und seitdem verzeichnete die Kryptowährung ein beeindruckendes Wachstum.
Inspiriert von Bitcoin führte man damals, im Jahre 2013, die Idee von Satoshi Nakamoto weiter und legte gleichzeitig größeren Wert darauf, eine starke Community aufzubauen und diese zu involvieren. Auf diese Weise erfolgte auch die Lancierung des Projektes mit einem starken Community-Fokus: Die Bekanntmachung eines Airdrops zum Release des Whitepapers, an welchem 3.000 Individuen teilgenommen hatten.
Dieser war nötig, um das ‘Regierungs’-Element und die Entscheidungsfindung von Decred von Anfang an zu dezentralisieren. So übernahm man viele Funktionen…
