Did people on this subreddit or social media ever influence when and what crypto you bought or sold, and if so, how did it go?

A common advice here is to ignore social media shillers, because they try to earn money off of you. In recent times, the phrase “inverse r/cryptocurrency” has also become popular, as people warn fellow subreddit members to not follow or even inverse the advice of this sub.

Yet that made me wonder, did people here buy or sell a crypto because of what was said on this subreddit or social media? And how did it go? Because it would not surprise me if -especially at the start of our crypto journeys- we are quite susceptible to the opinions of other people. I am very curious of your stories.

My own?

• On the sad side, I expected an alt season around 2021’s all time high and reallocated my portfolio to be more risky. One of these alts was Algo, which I think was influenced by this subreddit. That did not end well when the dump came. I had to sell those at a loss.
• On the bright side: I follow one account on Twitter that was early on the AI coins hype at the end of 2022. This is one of the few rare accounts that I hold in high regard. I bought two of the lowest market cap AI coins on Binance, which pumped hard. Then I took out my initial investment and now I ride the profits for free to minimize risk.
