Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask but I have a few questions.

Written by pinmin

So I have a Trezor hardwallet, I have my seed phrase, and a PIN for the wallet. When I first got the hard wallet I moved a portion of my Bitcoin onto it. A year later I’ve decided to put more into the wallet.

I went on the Trezor website, unlocked the hard wallet with my PIN, and was able to see my funds off the Trezor website and then sent funds off my Coinbase to the wallet.

So here are my questions.

  1. I was under the impression I had to type each individual word of my seed to have further access of the hardwallet. So what am I doing with the seed if my hardwallet opens straight to my funds as long as I have the PIN? (Sorry I’m probably ignorant but I want to learn. I just don’t know the right sources).

  2. When I see my “accounts” on the Trezor website, the first time I moved funds into the hard wallet, I see it as “Legacy Segwit account” and with my most recent deposit it’s seen as separate from the segwit account. What does this mean? What’s the difference?

Again sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask but I’d really appreciate your responses to help me further understand. Thanks!
